Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SpendKeep ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the SpendKeep web or Android application and this presentation website.

1. Information we handle

Account information

Account and authentication information is used to register you, sign you in, recover access, and associate SpendKeep data with your account. Authentication may use a password or Google sign-in.

Transactions and financial organization

SpendKeep stores information you choose to enter or import, such as income and expense transactions, amounts, dates, currencies, descriptions, categories, monthly category budgets, recurring-income schedules, and a household savings objective.

Household information

Household features use details about the household owner, invited app users, tracked members, the default currency, and transaction attribution or beneficiaries. If you add or invite another person, you are responsible for having an appropriate basis to provide their information.

Preferences and communications

We process settings such as language and display preferences. If you contact us, request a transaction export by email, or use account recovery, we process the information needed to respond or deliver that communication.

Technical information

The service may process technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot it, such as request details, device or browser information, IP address, and security events.

2. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, household, transaction, category, budget, savings, recurring-income, and reporting features.
  • Generate dashboards and reports from the data you supply.
  • Import records and prepare requested exports.
  • Provide English and Romanian interfaces and remember relevant preferences.
  • Protect the service, investigate errors or abuse, and communicate about accounts or support requests.
  • Maintain and improve SpendKeep.

SpendKeep is a money-management tool and does not need your bank login credentials. Do not enter authentication secrets or payment-card security codes into transaction descriptions or other free-text fields.

3. Access and service providers

Information may be visible to other app users in the same household where that visibility is necessary for shared household features. Household owners and members should use those features with appropriate care.

We may use infrastructure, authentication, email, security, and other service providers to operate SpendKeep. They receive only the access needed to perform their services and are subject to their own legal and contractual obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.

We do not describe any payment processor here because SpendKeep does not currently offer a paid checkout or subscription.

4. Storage and retention

We retain information for as long as needed to operate SpendKeep, maintain security and integrity, meet legal obligations, and handle disputes. The exact period can depend on the type of information and why it is processed.

You can start deletion in the Android or signed-in web app's Privacy & Data screen. You can also use our public contact form to request SpendKeep data deletion or request full account deletion. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Some limited information may need to remain where required by law, necessary for security or dispute resolution, or preserved temporarily in operational backups. The retention period depends on the type of information and reason for retention; we do not have a single fixed period for all categories.

5. Your choices and controls

Review and update supported profile, household, transaction, category, and settings information in the application.

Data export

Request available personal-data and transaction exports through the application.

SpendKeep deletion

Request removal of SpendKeep data while keeping your shared Identity account and data in other connected applications. See the steps and household effects.

Full-account deletion

Depending on where you live, data-protection law may also give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a portable copy of personal data. Use the application controls or contact us to make a request.

6. Cookies and local storage

The application may use cookies or similar browser storage where needed for authentication, security, and user preferences. This presentation site stores the selected light or dark theme in your browser. Blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the service from working correctly.

7. Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including authenticated access and encrypted network connections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so protect your credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SpendKeep or applicable requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.

9. Contact
